A Case of Prenatal Diagnosed Ectopia Cordis by Ultrasonography

Abstract
First reported in 1671 by stensen, ectopia cordis means that the heart in partially or totally outside the thorax. There are five types of ectopia cordis; cervical, thoracocervical, thoracic, thoracoabdominal, abdominal.
Ectopia cordis would appear closely related embryonic development, arising as the result of defective formation and differentiation of the ventral mesoderm at about 14 to 18 days of embryonic life.
A case of thoracic ectopia cordis which was diagnosed by ultrasonography at 27 weeks gestation in 27 years old multiparity was experienced at our department. So we report this case with brief review of literatures.
